Iconic Pubs of Australia
Who knew? When we checked the iconic pubs of Australia list we were very surprised to find that our Air Safaris visit many of the Australian iconic pub locations. We were not aiming at offering a “pub tour“ of Australia’s iconic pubs but it is a bonus for our intrepid travelers. Many of the iconic pubs of Australia were built in the late 1800’s as part of the push to open the outback for pastoral and mining activities with the railways following on later. These structures have often survived due to their stone construction using locally sourced rock. Others are timber constructions, often replaced many times due to fires, and feature wide front verandahs. Today, all of the iconic pubs remain at the heart of many outback communities and provide relief and comradery from the isolation of the outback.
