Ultimate Uluru Air Safari is a small group air tour visiting some of the natural wonders of Central Australia, departing from Brisbane. In this tour you visit 4 states of Australia and capture the spectacular aerial views of Uluru, Kings Canyon, the MacDonnell Ranges and Lake Torrens. We cross the Flinders Ranges, and the Simpson and Great Victorian Deserts. Visit the unique towns of Dubbo, Broken Hill, Coober Pedy, Uluru, Alice Springs, Birdsville and Charleville. Enjoy the spectacle of the Field of Lights as you dine under the stars, behold Uluru and Kata Tjuta as they tower above you, walk through the stunning Stanley Chasm and so much more.

There are stairs and walking up to 4km (1hr 30mins) at a time including up slopes in this tour. Passengers may choose not to undertake these activities but no alternative activity has been arranged during these periods. All passengers must be able to walk unaided and climb stairs into the plane as a minimum.

The first stop on the tour is Dubbo. Our coach meets us at the airport for the bus ride to the world class Taronga Zoo. With the help of an expert guide, we’ll explore the “African plains.”
Mid-afternoon we fly on to Broken Hill where we can take a stroll around town and enjoy welcome drinks and dinner at the Palace Hotel, famous for its role in the hit movie Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

Today we have a town tour of Broken Hill to see some of the local sites before heading to the nearby town of Silverton. Feel the charm of the outback as you learn about the town's role in the silver mining industry and on the silver screen. It has appeared in a number of iconic Australian films including Mad Max 2.

This morning we continue our exploration of Broken Hill and its deep mining history. We also touch on their unique art scene with a visit to the Pro Hart Gallery. Internationally renowned artist, Pro Hart, enjoyed a variety of mediums and cars were no exception!
In the afternoon we depart Broken Hill and cross the Flinders Ranges with their unusual shapes and vivid colours. We'll stop for a short fuel stop in Leigh Creek, a unique town that was until recently a large coal mine.
The day finishes in Coober Pedy where we have the chance to enjoy dinner overlooking this charming outback town as the sun sets for the evening.

Today is all things opal as we explore the town and opal workings. We visit a private claim in the opal fields, an underground church, the spectacular Breakaways and much more for an in-depth exploration of Coober Pedy. We see how the locals live and even get to stay in a former opal mine turned accommodation.

As we depart Coober Pedy for Uluru, we fly along the edge of the Great Victoria Desert. We follow the Sturt Highway and overfly mining towns, now mostly vacant.
In the afternoon, a guided tour takes us to Walpa Gorge to explore the towering rock domes of Kata Tjuta before ending the day with the now famous Field of Lights dinner. Enjoy a delicious meal with the spectacular Uluru in the background followed by a beautiful art installation that lights up the desert night.Accommodation: Ayers Rock Resort

We start the day with a guided tour of Uluru and explore the Mutitjulu Waterhole and the Mala Walk to learn about the culture of the local Aboriginal peoples. After, we depart for the airport and our flight to Alice Springs.
In the afternoon there is a chance to rest before joining a nocturnal animal tour in the evening at the Alice Springs Desert Park.Accommodation: DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel or Mercure.

A full day today exploring Tjoritja, the West MacDonnell Ranges, to the west of Alice Springs. The national park is known for some truly stunning scenery, which can be enjoyed from the many wonderful walking trails in the area. Walks include Simpsons Gap, Standley Chasm, the Ochre Pits and Ormiston Gorge.

First a stop at the old Telegraph Station. Located on the original site of the first European settlement in Alice Springs, it was established in 1871 to pass messages between Darwin and Adelaide.
Leaving Alice Springs our flight takes us over the entire width of the Simpson Desert. We refuel in the town of Birdsville with a break for lunch at the iconic Birdsville Pub.
Next we fly on to Charleville for our last overnight stop. This evening we have our final chance to check out the beautiful outback night sky at the Cosmos Center.Accommodation: Rocks Motel

After breakfast we head out to explore Charleville. First we stop at the Bilby Experience for a special tour of their nocturnal house. Following this we'll head to a local date farm and Charleville's WW2 Secret Base.
After lunch, we are back to flying the final leg of our journey. It is sadly time to head home, but there is one last chance to see the amazing aerial views of outback Queensland before arriving back at Archerfield.

Single Supplement $1,000
All outback tours are fully inclusive. Our team works with your Tour Directors to map out every step of the journey, and plan for every eventuality. The tour cost includes all accommodation, meals, ground and air travel, taxes, tours and entrance fees. Everything except Alcohol, outside of planned events, is the only item not included in the price. As the intrepid traveler, all you’ll have to worry about is relaxing and enjoying every moment.
While we attempt to cater for all food dietary requirements, please remember you are visiting remote Australia, where options are limited by the local choices available. It is your responsibility to let us know if you have dietary issues in advance.
Some of the towns you are visiting have very limited accommodation choices. All rooms have ensuites.
